Hosted in Mississauga's quaint and picturesque 'village on the lake', this workshop takes new aspiring photographers through a practical hands-on photo journey that will help them not only develop confidence and know-how in making use of their camera's advanced shooting modes, but also help them develop a sense of how photojournalists and other pros capture the real heart and character of an attractive, people-busy urban centre. Through a combination of camera know-how tips and composition-driven coaching, students will discover how to take their ability to capture the right scene at the right moment up to the next level.
Course Outline:
- How to use varying shutter speeds and other camera techniques to creatively change the way motion is captured
- Exploring how changing depth of field can dramatically influence the way you draw attention to your subject
- Discovering how the interplay between your lens and camera to subject distance affects your photo's perspective and composition.
- Understanding and putting to effective use your camera's exposure compensation feature
- Understanding how and when to put your camera's metering modes to good use
- How ISO impacts exposure
- Putting rules of effective composition to the test
- Thinking a little more like a photojournalist - capturing the right subject at the right moment
and more...
(Note: These sessions are specially crafted by each photographer to include their own experiences and advice. Expect subjects to be covered that are not mentioned here!)
