Aperture 102

Apple's Aperture is one of the industry's most powerful all-around image management & editing software solutions. This second of two workshops takes a look mostly at Aperture's image editing tools. We'll start by first showing you how to perform basic edits that affect a photo's overall colour and tonality (brightness & contrast). We'll then show you advanced tools & techniques, focusing on how Aperture can take advantage of the extra latitude contained in Raw files. Sometimes photos just need adjustments in small, specific areas. In light of this, so we'll also explore Aperture's amazing spot and local area adjustment brushes. Finally, when you need to do something that Aperture just can't do (which isn't all that much), we'll show you how to send your image into Photoshop (or other external editor) to do what you need to do and then seamlessly have the file return to Aperture's library. Once your photos are primed and ready for sharing, we'll show you some of the options involved in printing and exporting/formatting your images so you get the results you expect.

Prerequisites:

Basic computer skills. Aperture 101 is recommended but not mandatory.

A great course, fast paced with lots of material. Could've used even more time to cover the ground. But I'm already using what I've learned with fabulous results! It's helpful to already be shooting in RAW before taking this class.
